[A half a day or so after this debacle, once Jingyi figures out how to read other people's conversations, he heads out from home and makes his way to Xichen's front door. It's either evening or the next morning after lessons, and he comes bearing a carton of ice cream and a paper-wrapped gift(?) roughly the size of of a box of poptarts. He's forgone robes this time, and in jeans and a T-shirt, he knocks very politely and proceeds to fidget as the ice cream continues to sweat and melt in the crook of his arm.]
